Youth killed in Diego Martin in 2013 …”MAN CHARGED 5 YEARS LATER”

Spread the word
Five years after a youth was shot dead in Diego Martin, his alleged killer was arrested and charged.

Edwin Phillip, 29, of Adam Trace, Diego Martin, appeared before Chief Magistrate Maria Busby-Earle-Caddle in the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Court charged with murdering Andre Ross, 17, on May 3, 2013.

Phillip was remanded into custody and ordered to reappear in court in August.

Ross, a welding student at the Diego Martin Police Youth Club, was walking along Sierra Leone Road, Diego Martin, when he was approached by a man who shot him several times.

Homicide detectives were unable to solve Ross’ murder so the case was handed over to the Cold Case Unit.

Phillip was arrested last week Tuesday after appearing in the same court on other charges. He was charged after investigators received advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
