THE EDITOR: Wait a minute, Ministers are now responsible for the procurement of a vessel?

Does the Cabinet have that authority to select Ministers to perform procurement functions? Does the Prime Minister, as Head of the Cabinet, have this legal authority?

Who will have oversight of their decisions and actions, the Minister of Finance?

What is therefore going to be the role of the Port Authority?

So from now on there will be a Cabinet sub-committee on procurement only this time the Ministers on this committee will actually be selecting and awarding tenders?

This stinks to high heavens and cannot and will never be able to withstand public scrutiny.

But then again, this is the PNM and who doh like it.
