WASA WORKER SHOT DEAD IN COCORITE

An employee of the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) was shot dead around midday on Tuesday.

According to reports, the incident took place at Powder Magazine, Cocorite.

Two men, identified as Nejie Jaja and Luke Rampersad, employed at WASA, were conducting repairs in a trench when a man unknown to them walked over and opened fire.

The assailant then fled the scene.

The wounded men were rushed to the hospital, however, Jaja died.

Rampersad was said to be in a serious condition. St James Police is investigating. The murder toll has reached 443.
