Vacationing Brit shot dead in San Juan

Adrian St John, 22, a British national on vacation in Trinidad, was shot to death during a robbery in San Juan on Sunday night.

Police confirmed that John was shot in the head and died sometime later at hospital.

According to police sources, around 8.30 p.m. John was driving a Nissan AD wagon with two women, aged 50 and 22, of Wallerfield and Mt D’or Road, as his passengers.

Police said John stopped the vehicle to allow the 50 year old to pick up her relative. Two armed men emerged from behind two water tanks and pointed guns at them.

They were robbed of cell phones and cash. The bandits ordered John to drive away and fired a shot at the car as he drove off.

He was struck in the back of the head. Police responded and took John to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he died.

John’s killing was the second on Sunday night.

Aaron Ramsaroop, 23, was stabbed to death during an argument in St Joseph.

At around 9.30 p.m. Ramsaroop, was at Sambadora Acono Road, Maracas, liming with friends when he was invovled in an argument.

Police said Ramsaroop was stabbed several times in the chest, arm and head.

Ramsaroop was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to the wounds.

Police are searching for one suspect.
