Two men have been charged with murders in Cocorite and Princess Town.
In the first case, Nester “Pappy” Sammy, 27, of Harding Place, Cocorite, appeared before Chief Magistrate Maria Busby Earle-Caddle on Friday charged with the murder of Shaquime Williams which occurred on April 15.
The matter was adjourned to September 14.
Williams, 23, also of Harding Place, Cocorite, was found dead with bullet wounds about the body on April 15 near the Harding Place recreation ground.
Sammy was arrested on July 28 and charged following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC on Thursday.
In the second case, Tevin Gibson, 19, of St Croix Road, Princess Town, appeared before a San Fernando Magistrate on Friday charged with the murder of Darren Carter, which occurred on June 12.
Carter, 39, of Manahambre Road, Princess Town, was at the home of a female friend when a man known to the friend entered and an argument ensued. During the argument, the man pulled out a gun and shot Carter several times before running off. Carter died on the spot.
Gibson was arrested on July 30 and charged on Thursday.
