Two men have been charged with murder.
Nankool Ramcharan, 29, a mechanic, of Gopaul Trace, Palmiste, Longdenville, appeared before a Chaguanas Magistrate on Monday charged with the murder of retired policeman, John Ramkissoon on January 1.
Police said there was an altercation and Ramkissoon was stabbed to death.
In the second case, a 37-year-old Whiteland man appeared before a Siparia magistrate on Monday charged with the murder of his neighbour Daveanand Ramsingh last April.
Rishi Gopie was charged with murder on Sunday after the police received advice from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Joan Honore-Paul. Ramsingh was found lying in a pool of blood outside his Penal home with chop marks after he reportedly got into a heated argument with another man. He was taken to the hospital where he died.
