TT Prime Minister continues to miss meetings …”AN ABSENT ROWLEY”

Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley continues to be absent from international meetings and gatherings.

The latest took place on Tuesday. British Prime Minister Theresa May agreed to meet with 12 Caribbean leaders during a break in the Commonwealth Heads of Government conference in London.

Guess what! Rowley was absent from that meeting. He sent lame duck Dennis Moses, the controversial Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs. The leader of the Caricom team was Jamaican Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, who later addressed the British media.

Guess what! Moses sat in the meeting and said nothing, sources added. Where was Rowley? No one can say, but nationals in the United Kingdom expressed concern that Rowley did not attend the meeting.

One TT national felt Rowley should have gone and said something since people from this country were on the list for deportation.

“Why send Dennis Moses who could not properly represent this country?” he asked.

Since Rowley became Prime Minister in September 2015, he has failed to attend any meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015, 2016 or 2017.

Rowley was absent from the recent Summit of the Americas conference in Peru, sending Moses to lead this country’s delegation.

Upon arrival in London on Monday, Rowley meet with energy experts.

The only consistent thing which Rowley has done has been to Caricom Heads of Government conferences which take place every six months.
