Trinidad and Tobago is featuring in a new round of released emails of the United States presidential candidate Hilary Clinton.
Investigations by TT Whistleblower found that T&T has been mentioned in the newly-unveiled emails, one of the centerpiece issues in the US election campaign.
In the latest release, Clinton is accused of doing favors for American billionaires.
T&T is mentioned with respect to Clinton’s attendance at the 2009 Summit of the Americas conference at the Hyatt in Port of Spain.
Clinton was, at the time, US Secretary of State.
Top aide Huma Abedin left Clinton’s daily schedule book in an unlocked room at the Hyatt.
In the world of top diplomacy, the meeting schedule and private notes of such a powerful figure are said to be classified and top secret.
During the Port of Spain conference, an aide named Melissa Wan wrote to Abedin: “Hi Huma. Would it be possible to get one of the Secretary’s day bookbinders back for tomorrow’s product?”
Abedin replied: “Yes it’s on the bed in my room. U can take it. My door is open. I’m in the lobby. Thx.”
Clinton and Abedin have been accused of hiding emails of the presidential contender.
A total of 296 pages of emails were released earlier this week.
Donald Trump, the US Republican candidate, has been pressing for action against Clinton with respect to some aspects of the released emails.
