This has got to be the joke of the century – Keith Rowley is talking about “deliberately distorting” an email address; what an insult to the intelligence of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
Prime Minister Keith Rowley, speaking at yesterday’s post-cabinet media briefing, took umbrage that UNC Senator Wade Mark, who apparently made a mistake in memory of his (Rowley’s) email address declared that “the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, through the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs, has already begun to conduct a forensic audit, investigation and examination into this and other pieces of e-mail.”
This has got to be the joke of the century – Keith Rowley is talking about “deliberately distorting” an email address.
What an insult to the intelligence of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
First of all, is this the role of the Attorney General – to conduct a forensic audit, investigation and examination into this and other pieces of e-mail?
If such an investigation is warranted, then it should be handed over to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
But Rowley knows he can orchestrate whatever he wants the AGs report to conclude.
He dared not refer this to the TTPS since they will not be able to justify investigating this while they have remained impotent for over four years with regards to their investigation into emailgate.
Emailgate… it was on May 19 2013 when Keith Rowley, as Opposition Leader, stood up in Parliament and boldly produced faked emails which were malicious, false, misleading and scandalous. He concocted these emails and accused the former Prime Minister, her Attorney General and other Cabinet Ministers of a large scale conspiracy to undermine the justice system and harm a journalist in an attempt to bring down a duly-elected Government.
And to compound this issue, the current Attorney General, Faris Al-Rawi, then an Opposition Senator, postured that the investigation must go beyond the four corners of the evidence by adopting the form vs. substance argument, i.e. even if the emails are fake, the investigation ignore the spuriousness of the source and proceed to investigate the contents.
So Keith Rowley needs to be reminded of that day when he recklessly abused the privilege of freedom of speech in the Lower House, when he used the cloak of parliamentary cover to make the most malicious, false, misleading and scandalous accusations and statements.
Keith Rowley’s political maneuvering and rash behavior is a continuation of his inept and incompetent leadership and daily he continues to show a lack of credibility and capacity to deliver anything to T&T, let alone good governance.
