A maxi taxi driver who was shot while sitting in his vehicle on Saturday, died at hospital on Monday.
Clyde Mitchell, 50, of Ste Madeleine, died at the San Fernando General Hospital.
Police said Mitchell was parked at the side of a road at Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas, when he was attacked.
A video which surfaced on social media showed the attack on Mitchell.
Mitchell struggled with his killer outside the maxi taxi for several seconds, before he was shot.
The killer then ran down the street as Mitchell returned to the vehicle and drove off.
Mitchell drove to the Chaguanas District Health Facility, and wastransferred to San Fernando where he was warded.
Police said they were told that a major blood vessel in Mitchell’s leg was severed by the bullet, which proved fatal.
Meanwhile, the murder of a 25-year-old man in Arima has brought the murder toll for the year to 71.
Sean Bowen was shot dead near his home on Punette Avenue, Pinto Road. Police said at about 10.30 pm on Monday, he was on the road when an unknown man shot him several times.
