Ambassador John L. Estrada on Tuesday presented his Letters of Credence to President Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona at the Office of the President, St Ann’s.
Students and teachers from SWAHA Hindu College, Tableland High School, Diego Martin Central Secondary, Audrey Jeffers School for the Deaf, Success Laventille Secondary, Signal Hill Secondary and Pentecostal Light and Life Foundation attended the ceremony.
The presentation of the credentials came three years after Estrada was nominated by US President Barack Obama to be the Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago. But it was only a few months ago that the US Senate approved the nomination. Estrada, a Trinidadian, came to Trinidad in March to prepare for his assumption to office.
The ceremony was conducted in the presence of Estrada’s wife Dr Cote Estrada and his aunt, Sheila Andrews.
