A San Fernando pastor was granted $250,000 bail when he appeared in court on Monday charged with four offenses related to the rape of a 14-year-old girl.
Galini Junior Grant, 26, of Hibiscus Drive, Pleasantville, appeared in the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court.
He was granted $250,000 bail pending approval by the Clerk of Peace.
Grant appeared before senior magistrate Debra Quintyne charged with four offenses under the Children’s Act.
The offenses include sexual penetration of a child, sexual touching of a child, taking a child against her will for the purpose of sexual intercourse, and sexual grooming of a child.
Grant was arrested last Tuesday after police allegedly found him raping the child under an almond tree.
The magistrate ordered the accused to stay 100 feet away from the victim, stay half a mile away from her school, and have no contact via email or any electronic devices.
The case was postponed to December 16.
