Don’t be surprised if serial protestor Dr. Wayne Kublalsingh begins a fast against the PNM Government.
Kublalsingh is holding firm to his position that the Debe to Mon Desir section of the Point Fortin Highway should not be constructed as designed.
He remains steadfast that construction would disrupt the ecology of the community.
He has sprung back into action following the revelation by Works Minister Fitzgerald Hinds that highway construction is to resume.
Hinds did not provide a timeline.
He said there would soon be tenders for construction.
Kublalsingh said he has attempted to engage Hinds in discussions on the matter.
He said he is prepared to engage in legal protest against construction of the Debe-Mon Desir section.
He also wants full implementation of the Armstrong Report.
Kublalsingh engaged in highly-publicised food fasts in 2014 and 2015 in protest against the planned construction of that area of the highway.
He claimed the second fast lasted nine months.
During the latter fast, he had vowed to fight the then-People’s Partnership administration.
Then-Opposition Leader Dr. Keith Rowley had supported Kublalsingh during his protests.
