One thing is certain – little Kaiden, aged 3, lost both parents in a flash.
One day, he was happy with his father and mother and today, Kaiden will have to grow up as an orphan.
His father, Kahriym Garcia, 35, a United States deportee, killed his mother Samantha Isaacs and then killed himself.
Around 5.30 am on Saturday, Isaacs, 27, of L’anse Mitan, Carenage, was found at the side of the Western Main Road in the vicinity of the Ocean View Hotel after she was thrown out of a vehicle. Eyewitnesses told the police that Isaacs was thrown from a grey Elantra car.
She had gunshot wounds to her head and chest. She was dressed only in her underwear.
Isaacs was rushed to the St James Medical Complex where she was pronounced dead.
After viewing CCTV video footage, police went to the Upper Haig Street, Carenage, home of Kahriym Garcia to question him.
On their way to Garcia’s home, they heard a gunshot.
When the officers kicked down the door to his home they found Garcia dead on a couch in the living room.
Police found out that the relationship between Garcia and Isaacs was very rocky as Isaacs made numerous reports of domestic abuse. In fact, she made an application to the court for a restraining order against Garcia.
On Friday night, Isaacs was at her birthday lime with friends when Garcia her ex-boyfriend, and another man reportedly barged in.
Garcia spoke to Isaacs at the lime.
Security eventually put Garcia and the other man out of the party.
When the party was over, a man dropped Isaacs home.
Garcia is said to have been lying in wait for her.
He slapped her and dragged her into his car. He then shot her in the head and chest and dumped her body onto the Western Main Road.
Garcia had no intention of being arrested by the police. He had no plans to surrender either. The same gun he used to kill Isaacs, he turned it on himself and ended his life.
But before doing so, he wrote a note to his son. “Kaiden, I am sorry.”
