Andell Busby appeared in court on Thursday, charged with the murder of his wife.
Busby, 32, appeared in the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of Crystal Tobias-Busby.
He was not called upon to plead as the charges were indictable.
On November 28, Tobias-Busby of King Street, Plymouth, a midwife, was stabbed repeatedly at her home. She died at Scarborough General Hospital, where she worked.
A candlelight vigil was held recently at the hospital in memory of the midwife.
Busby, a Public Transport Service Corporation bus driver, of Guy Street, Canaan, was arrested at his Canaan home the same day.
The file in the matter was taken to Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard earlier this week for charges to be laid.
Instructions were later given to charge Busby with murder.
He will reappear on January 5. His wife was buried on Wednesday.
