Man in court for “stomping” murder

A man from Beetham Gardens, appeared before a Tunapuna Magistrate on Monday charged with the murder of an El Dorado resident last month.

Kareem Richardson, 20, stood before Tunapuna Magistrate Indrani Cedeno charged with the murder of Akeno Thomas.

Richardson is also charged with the possession of a gun and ammunition.

The charges read that Richardson was among two men who ambushed, shot and then beat Thomas, 36, of Lackpat Road, El Dorado.

Thomas was at Pentecostal Road, around 9.15 a.m., on July 27, when he was shot at by two men. He was hit in the thigh and fell into a drain. One of the assailants then jumped into the drain and proceeded to stomp on the victim’s head and body.
