Former Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has branded Faris Al Rawi the “worst performing Attorney General” in the country’s history.
Persad-Bissessar scolded Al Rawi for his recent assertion that there is no right to privacy and his revelation about the results of an investigation by the Strategic Services Agency (SSA).
She also criticised the legislative agenda, saying the AG has brought only nine Bills to Parliament since the start of the current term.
Her administration had introduced 30 Bills in the comparative time, she stated.
Speaking at a political meeting, she accused Al Rawi of “ducking and running on serious issues.”
Persad-Bissessar reminded of Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley’s promise to complete arrangements by month-end for compensation for law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
She said if the matter is not handled by that time, she would draft a Cabinet note on the matter to provide to the government.
