Three bandits were arrested by police after “putting down a wok.”
According to reports around 2 pm on Saturday, four men entered Steve’s Bar at St Helena Junction and announced a robbery. After robbing the bar and patrons, the bandits left in a silver Tiida.
Officers of the Las Lomas station responded, went to the location of the robbery. While there, they received certain information and a short while after, a Nissan b-15 conveying men fitting the description was intercepted in the vicinity of the Caroni bridge. A sum of cash and a gold chain which was taken during the robbery were recovered.
The suspects are assisting the police with their investigation and will be placed on identification parades this week. Police believe the bandits switched vehicles and was heading for the northern division when they were held.
