Gary Griffith has only been on the job for two weeks. He is already making an impact with his personal touch. While murders continue, Griffith is not bothered as in time, he will be dealing with crime and the gangs.
Tomorrow, Friday, is Independence Day. It will be Griffith’s first Independence Day as Commissioner of Police.
So what will be the day like for the top cop?
He attends the Independence Day Parade at the Queen’s Park Savannah from 8 am.
Then he hosts a reception at the Police Administration Building for dignitaries such as President Paula-Mae Weekes, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, Chief Justice Ivor Archie, among others.
He has been invited to Fire Services Headquarters where Chief Fire Officer, Roosevelt Bruce, hosts a reception.
The final stop will be at NAPA, where the Combined Officers will host their reception, called “A Toast to the Nation”.
It will also be the first time that Griffith will wear the Commissioner’s ceremonial outfit.
