Four days after he was reported missing, hiker Richard Baird has been found…..dead!
Baird, 56, a Petrotrin employee, of Rousillac, was found at around 12:15 p.m.
He had been lost on what was described as one of the most difficult hiking trails in the country.
Baird’s body was found by one of the search parties on the right side of the ridge leading to the Hollis waterfall.
Members of the search party, along with the police and fire officials are attempting to recover the body and move it to the Forensic Sciences Center, Federation Park for an autopsy.
Police are awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine how Baird died.
He was one of a group of 60 hikers on their way to the falls, which is about a four-hour walk.
