Former credit union clerk arrested …”STEALING POLICE MONEY”

A former female clerk employed with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Credit Union has charged with one count of larceny servant, totaling $63,034, and four counts of falsification of accounts.

It was alleged that the woman committed the offences between May 11, 2016 and December 12 2016.

Joseann Berkley 23, of Success Village, Laventille, was charged following investigations into allegations that while she was employed as a clerk at the Barataria Branch of the Police Credit Union, she conducted four unauthorized transactions, where funds totaling $63,034, were transferred into her account.

Following an audit conducted at the branch, the Fraud Squad was contacted and an investigation into the allegations was conducted.

The accused was arrested on Wednesday.
