First TT swimmer to medal at Commonwealth Games …”DYLAN CARTER SECOND”

Trinidad and Tobago swimmer, Dylan Carter, placed second in the Men’s 50 metre butterfly event at the Commonwealth Games, Australia, on Friday morning.

This is the first time that Trinidad and Tobago has won a swimming medal at the Commonwealth Games.

Carter, 22, managed to split the South Africa’s team which copped first and third places.

First place went to Chad Le Clos while third place went to Ryan Coetzee.

The top three best times are as follows:

1 Chad le Clos – 23.37

2 Dylan Carter – 23.67

3 Ryan Coetzee – 23.73

Team TTO started the action at the competition on Thursday with Joseph Fox in Artistic Gymnastics and Jenna Ross in the Women’s Triathlon.

Boxer Michael Alexander is set to face his first bout in the men’s 60 kg category. Team TTO will also compete at the Men’s Team Sprint in Cycling, Men’s Team in Table Tennis, the Men’s and Women’s Singles Squash competition, and the track and field events.
