A former government minister in a PNM administration has been quietly named the chief executive officer of a State company.

Neil Parsanlal is CEO of Petrotrin EAP Services Ltd., (PEAPSL), a subsidiary of the State-owned petrol giant.

It is not known whether Parsanlal has relinquished the chairmanship of National Library and Information Systems Authority (NALIS), to which he was named last December.

He was Minister of Communications in the PNM regime of 2007 to 2010.

He was also Member of Parliament for Lopinot-Bon Air West during that period.

Parsanlal previously worked in communications and human resources.

The directors of PEAPSL are Andre Jupiter, who also chairs the parent Petrotrin board, Linda Rajpaul and Beverly John.
