A 35 year-old man was shot dead on Tuesday night in Marabella.
He was identified as Everton Moses, aka Brothers.
Moses was shot multiple times in the head and body by men carrying high-powered weapons at around 8.30 pm.
Police discovered Moses’ body lying on the roadway.
Investigators said 30 spent shells were recovered at the scene.
Residents said Moses, a father of one, was well-known in the community. He was described as friendly and hardworking.
Moses’ body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre, Federation Park, for an autopsy.
ELDERLY COUPLE ROBBED
Four men were arrested after an elderly couple were being robbed in Barataria on Tuesday morning.
The brave couple were able to make a call to 999 during a home invasion involving three bandits. Police responded immediately and caught the men on the scene.
According to the police, the victims, aged 67 and 77, were at their Barataria home when three men, one armed with a knife, entered the premises and announced a hold up.
The men robbed the couple of cash and jewellery, valued at $13,530.
While the suspects were seeking to make good their escape, one of the victims managed to put through a call to 999, initiating an immediate response from officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force, Rapid Response Unit and Organised Crime Narcotics and Firearms Bureau.
Three men, a 19-year-old of Toco, a 26-year-old of Tunapuna and a 43year-old, also of Tunapuna, were arrested on the compound of couple’s home.
A fourth man, a 26-year-old of Tunapuna, who was found sitting in a silver Tiida car, which was parked close to the victims’ home, was also arrested. Police suspect he was the getaway driver.
