The father of Josiah Messi Gorkin, 3, who drowned at Chaguaramas following a family outing on July 16 has been granted bail.
Atiba Gorkin, 35, appeared before Senior Magistrate, Maria Busby Earle Caddle, in the Port of Spain Eighth Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with manslaughter.
Gorkin, of George Street, Port of Spain, was granted $75,000 bail and the matter adjourned to September 11.
Josiah was found dead in waters off Pier 1, Chaguaramas, a day after he went missing. The child was left in his father’s care at the Chaguaramas Boardwalk, when he disappeared.
