Taylor was positively identified on Thursday who visited the Forensic Science Centre in Federation Park.
According to police reports, at about 7.45 p.m. on Saturday, Belmont police officers were on duty when they heard gunshots in the area.
Officers went to the scene where they found the body of a boy lying motionless along Argyle Street.
The boy’s body bore gunshot wounds to the head, chest, back and both hands.
The scene was cordoned off and several spent shells were recovered.
Taylor lived in Chaguanas and had left home on Friday to visit relatives along St Paul Street, Laventille, where he intended to stay for Carnival celebrations.
