A member of the Unruly Isis gang of Enterprise, Chaguanas, has been shot dead.
Terrence Patrick, 22, was shot dead while sitting in a gallery with three others at a house in John Street, Enterprise, Chaguanas around 4 pm on Friday.
According to reports, Patrick, a woman identified only as Candice, 20, and two other men, were sitting in the gallery when two men believed to be from a rival gang, began shooting at them. Patrick was shot several times while the others were grazed by bullets.
They were all rushed to the Chaguanas Health Facility where Patrick was pronounced dead on arrival. The others were treated and transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex at Mt Hope.
No arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, an ENTERPRISE imam and three other people, including his wife, who were arrested on Wednesday for the possession of a gun, appeared before a Chaguanas Magistrateon Friday. Imam Avinash Seepersad, his wife Adrianna Joseph, Jelani Martin and Akeem James, were remanded into custody as they were unable to access the bail.
On Wednesday morning, Central Division police, acting on information, stopped a vehicle along Connector Drive, Enterprise. There were four occupants in the vehicle.
Police said the vehicle was searched and officers allegedly found a loaded Beretta pistol.
Appearing in the Chaguanas First Court before Senior Magistrate Joanne O’Connor, the four were not called upon to plead as the charges had been laid indictably.
Their attorney requested bail, which was granted by O’Connor.
Seepersad’s bail was $100,000 while his wife was granted bail in the sum of $85,000.
Martin was granted bail in the sum of $125,000 as the court was told he had other matters pending in the Chaguanas court, while James was granted bail in the sum of $85,000.
The magistrate then adjourned the matter to April 7.
