One man was killed and three others wounded in a drive-by shooting at Le Platte Village, Maraval, on Sunday night.
The dead man was identified as Andre Douglas, 25, of Le Platte Village.
The wounded were identified as Jeremy Harewood, 20, Dominic Arburn, 25 and Wendy John, 40, of Le Platte. According to reports, at about 8.15 pm the group was liming at Phillip Trace when a black X-Trail SUV pulled up.
The occupants of the vehicle opened fire, shooting all four. Police said they believe automatic weapons were used in the attack. Douglas was killed on the spot while the other three, who were all shot multiple times, are warded at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
Police said they are all in critical condition. Police said they later found the X-Trail abandoned at Paramin.
On March 30, 2017, three persons, Collin Letren, 25, Kuanda Critchlow, 24, and Joel Le Platte, 35, were killed in another drive-by shooting.
That incident occurred in a track off the Morne Coco Road when a blue B-14 vehicle drove up to them and its occupants opened fire. It is believed that a machine gun was used in that gun attack.
The police have not determined a motive for Sunday night’s shooting.
