With 152 police officers already suspended from duty for various reasons, another two have been arrested as investigations continue into allegations of extortion.

The two officers, who are attached to the Western Division, were detained during a police operation on Wednesday night by officers of the Professional Standards Bureau.

The men, both of whom are said to be police constables, were detained after a report was made that they were allegedly trying to extort money from some persons in the Diego Martin area, to forego prosecution.

They are to be placed on identification parades by Friday.
